The House Foreign Affairs Committee
Subcommittee on Intelligence and Oversight (Chairman)
The Intelligence and Oversight Subcommittee has jurisdiction over The United States Mission to the United Nations, The Bureau of International Organizations Affairs, and Offices that report directly to the Secretary of State, to include: Office of the Ombuds, Office of Civil Rights, Office of Global Women’s Issues, Bureau of Intelligence and Research, Bureau of Legislative Affairs, Office of the Legal Adviser, Office of Policy Planning, Office of the Chief of Protocol, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and all Special Envoys and Special Representatives. Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere
The Western Hemisphere Subcommittee has a regional oversight focus that aligns with the area of responsibility of the State Department’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs. Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations
The Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee is responsible for Department of Defense policy and programs and accounts related to military intelligence, national intelligence, countering weapons of mass destruction, counter-proliferation, counter-terrorism, other sensitive military operations, special operations forces, information operations policy and military information support operations, and security cooperation. Subcommittee on Military Personnel
The Military Personnel Subcommittee is responsible for Department of Defense policy and programs and accounts related to military personnel and their families, Reserve Component integration and employment, military health care, military education, dependent schools, POW/MIA issues, Morale, Welfare and Recreation, commissaries, cemeteries under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, military retirement issues, and the civilian and contract workforce. Subcommittee on Readiness
The Readiness Subcommittee is responsible for Department of Defense policy and programs and accounts related to military readiness, training, logistics and maintenance, military construction, organic industrial base, environment, military installations and real property management, family housing, base realignments and closures, and energy.
