Congressman Cory Mills Applauds President Trump’s Swift Signing of the Laken Riley Act into Law

Washington, D.C. — Last week, Congressman Cory Mills (FL-07) voted in favor of the Laken Riley Act, which will ensure that all illegal immigrants who commit theft, assault on law enforcement, or violent crimes resulting in death or serious harm are detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Today, President Trump signed the Laken Riley Act into law, his first bill, which will help protect the safety of the American people.

“I am proud to have voted for the Laken Riley Act, a bill that honors the life of 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley, tragically murdered by an illegal alien. This critical legislation ensures that illegal immigrants charged with crimes like burglary and theft are detained by the Department of Homeland Security.
