Washington, D.C. — Congressman Cory Mills (FL-07) released the following statement after President Donald J. Trump’s Joint Address to Congress:

“President Trump delivered one of the greatest speeches in history. He is already delivering on his promises to strengthen America’s security, prosperity, and global standing while restoring common sense,” said Congressman Cory Mills.

“Just over six weeks into President Trump’s presidency, our Border Patrol has seen a 93% decrease in border encounters the lowest in decades, a 600% increase in ICE apprehensions, and the lowest amount of border crossing in history in the month of February.

Our economy is growing stronger with $1.7 trillion in new investments, fueling job creation and putting more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans.

President Trump successfully captured Mohammad Sharifullah, the mastermind behind the Abbey Gate bombing, during Biden’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan that took 13 lives.

Common sense is being reinstated with President Trump’s demands to remove DEI from all federal agencies and protect women and girls by making sure males do not participate in female sports.

During his address to Congress, President Trump also showcased the consequences of Biden’s radical policies and global weakness by inviting angel parents, freed hostages, and a female athlete gravely injured by a male competitor in girls’ sports, guests the Democrats disgracefully refused to honor with applause. By refusing to support secure borders, lower taxes, fighting childhood cancer, or capturing terrorists, the Democrats further revealed their disconnect from both reality and the American people.”
