Rep. Mills Applauds Awarding of $1 Million Grant for Sanford International Airport

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, Rep. Cory Mills (FL-07) released the following statement after Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) was awarded $1 million from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to fund a portion of the rehabilitation of the West Terminal corridor, increasing the passenger waiting area, and ADA accommodations:
“I was pleased to hear Orlando Sanford International Airport in Florida’s Seventh District was granted $1 million to improve access for disabled individuals and make additional necessary improvements to the West Terminal,” said Rep. Mills. “As someone born and raised in Central Florida, I know Sanford Airport is vital to individuals traveling in the area. I’m glad to know Sanford will be able to make significant improvements that will help passengers with this FAA grant.”
Nicole Martz, President & CEO of Sanford Airport Authority said, “This funding will allow us to relieve congestion, improve connectivity, and provide additional passenger seating options in West Terminal. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to enhance the passenger experience at our airport and to continue our mission of being ‘Simpler, Faster, Better.’”
