WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Cory Mills (FL-07) released the following statement after questioning the Sergeant Major of the Army, Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy, Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, and the Chief Master Sergeant of the Space Force about the needs of our military:

“Today, I had the opportunity to hear from the top brass in our enlisted forces about barracks standards, health care, family, food insecurity, and other pressing issues our troops are facing today. As a non-commissioned officer myself, I want to strengthen our military and increase troop morale and recruitment.

“We need to increase lethality, readiness, and abandon notions of CRT and DEI. We must focus on addressing troop pay while inflation continues to crush American families. A 4.6% increase in salary sounds good, but not when Bidenflation is at 10-13%. This is invisibly defunding our armed forces and causing financial strain on the families. It’s time we focus on the issues and ensure we provide for our armed forces members and their families so they can focus on the mission.”
