Rep. Mills Statement on H.R. 1 – The Lower Energy Costs Act

Today, Congressman Cory Mills (FL-07) released the following statement about H.R. 1. – The Lower Energy Costs Act:
“Today, House Republicans kept another promise to the American people: we voted to lower costs for all Americans, and we did so on a bipartisan basis. Now, we will address our energy shortfalls, our production of LNG, make American energy dominant again, and put America first.
“When House Republicans took the majority this Congress, we promised the American people we would address rising crime rates in our nation’s capital, ensure parents’ rights are protected, and lower energy costs for families – and that’s exactly what we’ve done.
“I will remind everyone; the passage of H.R. 1 is not the first victory House Republicans have clinched. We passed the Parents’ Bill of Rights to ensure parents have a seat at the table when it comes to their child’s education, we created a Select Committee on China, removed China’s “developing nation” status, and repealed the ludicrous changes to the D.C. criminal code – just like we said we would.
“If the Senate doesn’t take up this legislation, it is a smack in the face to the American people who sent a Republican majority to Congress to bring down the cost of living after President Biden’s illiterate fiscal policies have caused a 40-year high record inflation rate.”
